The audit revealed that each hospital site utilized between 15,600 and 96,000 Blueys annually, translating to approximately 75 million Blueys (over 1,950 tonnes) across 1350 hospitals in Australia alone. The decomposition of these items in landfills takes over 100 years. This staggering impact doesn’t even account for the larger, thicker Pinkies.
